Flamebuster2 Nordic Jacket with limited chemical splash

Our best selling coverall fabric for North Sea use just got a lot better, safer, more comfortable. The Flamebuster2 is the next major step. Apart from an unprecedented fabric, we also made some very relevant design changes. In order to increase comfort, we removed the shoulder seams and added a new shoulder construction that allows wearing shoulder pads.

LCA – Understanding the numbers

Each ROOTS products with an LCA shows these key figures:

  • kg CO₂ equivalent - The total climate impact of all greenhouse gases, converted into one standard unit, so you can compare like-for-like.
  • m³ Water Deprived - Not just water use, but where it’s used. This accounts for regional scarcity, because a litre in Egypt isn’t the same as a litre in the UK.
  • The key figures are measured in 5 phases

    1. Upstream – Raw materials and components: fibres, trims, packaging.

    2. Core Process – Production: spinning, weaving, dyeing, and assembly.

    3. Downstream – Transport and distribution. Smaller footprint than you'd think.

4.1 Use – Laundry – Washing during use. 40 cycles for coveralls, trousers and jackets, 2 for parkas, bodywarmers and softshell jackets

4.2 Disposal – End-of-life: landfill, incineration, recycling, or reuse.
